After joining the company in 1994, Andrew was appointed an Executive Director in 1999. Andrew has over 25 years’ experience in the Mining industry and has been involved in coal mining in South Africa since 1994.

Garrett Casey joined the Board of Bisichi PLC in 2010 after starting at the company as Group Finance Manager in 2008. Garrett qualified as a Chartered Accountant in South Africa and has had previous roles in both the European and South African property sector as well as the accounting profession.

Robert joined the company in 2000 as General Manager of Black Wattle Colliery and was appointed Director of Mining of Bisichi PLC in 2008. Robert is a Certificated Coal Mine Manager with over 40 years coal mining experience and is a member of the Engineering Council of South Africa.

John Wong has been a director since 2020. After training as a Chartered accountant he has worked in the fund management industry for over 20 years and has extensive experience in investment management, in particular within the mining sector.

Clement Robin Parish was appointed a Director in 2024. After studying at Oxford, Robin has accumulated over 50 years’ experience in the investment trading industry, including over 10 years as Chairman and Managing Director of El Oro Ltd, a former listed investment trading company specialising in mineral exploration, mining, and industrial related activities. Robin also held roles as Managing Director and Chairman of The Exploration Company PLC and El Oro Mining and Exploration Co. PLC, prior to their merger to become El Oro Ltd.

Takalani is the General Manager at Black Wattle Colliery and has been an employee at Black Wattle since 2006. He was previously employed by Harmony Gold and has been in the mining industry for over 15 years.

Stephen Crabb was appointed a Director in 2024. Stephen served as a Member of Parliament from 2005 to 2024. During his political career Stephen held various leadership roles in Parliament including Secretary of State for Wales and Secretary of State for Work and Pensions. Stephen has degrees from London Business School (MBA, 2004) & Bristol University. From 1998-2002 he was Policy Manager at London Chamber of Commerce. Stephen’s knowledge and experience will bring a new perspective to the Group’s strategy of growing the company’s existing and future spread of business interests and investments.
