Bisichi PLC is a fully listed company and its principal activity is coal mining in South Africa. The group is a controlling shareholder in Black Wattle Colliery, a coal mining and coal washing operation situated in Mpumulanga, South Africa. The groups’ strategy is to create and deliver long term sustainable value to its stake holders through the acquisition and investment in new mining operations in South Africa as well as through the development of its existing operations. In addition to its mining activities, the group seeks to balance the high risk of mining with a dependable cash flow and capital appreciation from its UK property investment operations. Sir Michael Heller
Sir Michael Heller is a qualified Chartered Accountant and serves as Executive Chairman of the Board of Bisichi PLC. Sir Michael became an Executive Director in 1972 and Executive Chairman in 1981. Sir Michael was knighted in the 2013 New Year Honours List for Philanthropy.

Andrew Heller is a qualified Chartered Accountant and serves as a Chairman & Managing Director of Bisichi PLC. After joining the company in 1994, Andrew was appointed an Executive Director in 1999. Andrew has over 20 years’ experience in the Mining industry and has been involved in coal mining in South Africa since 1994.
Garrett Casey joined the Board of Bisichi PLC in 2010 after starting at the company as Group Finance Manager in 2008. Garrett qualified as a Chartered Accountant in South Africa and has had previous roles in both the European and South African property sector as well as the accounting profession.

Robert joined the company in 2000 as General Manager of Black Wattle Colliery and was appointed Director of Mining of Bisichi PLC in 2008. Robert is a Certificated Coal Mine Manager with over 40 years coal mining experience and is a member of the Engineering Council of South Africa.

Christopher Joll is an Oxford University law graduate with twenty years’ experience in financial public relations and investor relations both in-house and as a consultant. Since selling his last consultancy, Christopher has held a number of non-executive directorships of private, pre-listed and listed companies; he is also a trustee of two national charities.
